Bus Services
Route 398 from Borehamwood, South Mimms and Potters Bar
There are two buses each way between Potters Bar and the school one operating via Tescos and the High Street and the other via the Railway Station, Darkes Lane and Church Road. The latter also connects the school with South Mimms and Borehamwood. These buses are run by Sullivan Buses, if you have questions regarding this service, please contact them direct or see there website for further information: Sullivan Buses
Importantly following a change in arrangements with Hertfordshire County Council, those who purchase tickets from the driver will need to present to the ticket machine a currently valid Hertfordshire Savercard in order to obtain the child prices shown in the leaflet - otherwise adult tickets which are twice the price - will have to be purchased. A Savercard will quickly pay for itself and may be used to obtain half price tickets on almost all buses in Hertfordshire. Visit www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/savercard to purchase. Savercards are not needed for Sullivan Buses season tickets purchased on line.
Unfortunately we have been unable to persuade Hertfordshire County Council to allow pupils who live outside Hertfordshire but are in full time education within the county to purchase a Savercard. This means that they have to pay adult fare on all buses in Hertfordshire including Sullivan Buses. We think this is neither fair nor sensible. We will therefore offer those who are outside the County and wish to buy tickets from the driver on our buses the opportunity to purchase a card that will give them child fares on our buses. The Child FareSaver may be purchased for £20 (the same price as the Herts Savercard) from Sullivan Buses website from early August and is only available to those who live outside the County. It is only available for use on our buses, but it will have paid for itself after 10 single journeys.
