Our live lounge concerts are to provide an opportunity for students (and a few staff) to try things out, experiment, take risks in an informal setting. We hold them roughly every half term – please see the website for updates.
Currently studying GCSE music - Alejandro, Scott and Tom perform Royal Blood’s hit single “Little Monster”
One of our sixth form groups, Blend sees three voice combine (with an excellent trio of instrumentalists) to produce their own scintillating take on Caro Emeralds’ “on A Night Like This” and London Grammar’s “Everywhere You Go”.
"On a Night Like This"
“Everywhere You Go”
Although the Arrested Development version maybe better known – here Joffe goes back to Sly and the Family Stone’s original for an acoustic reading of this great song.
Sixth-formers Laurie, James and Elliot perform regularly as part of Tilt Shift. Here they are in a playful mood with some home-grown R’N’B influenced songs.
“Little Angel Dance”
Xavier rips it up once again to dazzle the audience with a solo reading of the title track from Robert Plant’s “Band of Joy” album.
Vicky uses her props wisely and slips easily into character from this comic song from Frank Loesser’s musical “Guys and Dolls”.
Tommy and Corinna asked to sing this Gabriella Aplin’s song, Miss Riley added her arrangement for wind ensemble and hey presto!
“Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?”
Despite being the youngest performer, Ruby gives a wonderfully mature rendition of this Carol King classic.
Lucy sings a beautiful version of this track originally written by Bon Iver.
“Bring Me Sunshine”
Sean evokes Christmas day comedy magic with his rendition of the song Morcambe and Wise immortalised (I’m playing all the right notes…but not necessarily in the right order).
“I Wanna Sing”
Lucy, Xavier and Mr Clarke go all country on this little gem from Gillian Welch.
