Report on Pupil Premium Funding at Chancellor’s School 2011-2012

The following strategies were put in place to support vulnerable students using the Pupil Premium Funding:

  • 1:1 tuition in English and Maths to support a range of underachieving students, including those looked after by the Local Authority
  • The purchase of Accelerated Reader, a tool to encourage students in KS3 pioneered by the English department in conjunction with the library and the Learning Support department
  • Lunch club is run every day in F45 to support students with homework and to allow them to play games in caring and supportive environment
  • Homework club is open every day for an hour to support students to complete their homework
  • A team of teaching assistants support in a targeted way a range of students in lessons
  • The Learning Support department supports students with their reading and spelling by withdrawing some from their modern foreign language lesson and also by running intervention groups during morning registration periods
