Charity Netball & Football Matches
September 29, 2015
By Claire Dean and Kuran Phull, Year 13 Students
The Year 13 girls took on the Year 12 girls in our annual charity netball match.

It’s a great event for the sixth form, which is popular with the whole school to spectate. This year the match raised money for Unseen UK, a great charity that is working towards a world without slavery. I am happy to announce that the Year 13s won, although it was a tight game ending in a score of 7-6.

The boys also hosted a charity match which was available to spectate. The Year 13 vs Year 12 football ended with the Year 12s winning by a large margin of 6-0. We are looking forward to holding more matches like these later on this year.
Cake Sale
September 24, 2015
By Claire Dean, Year 13 Student
On Friday 18th October, the Sixth Form hosted a cake sale for the whole school.

It was held in the hall where there was a large area to display all the beautiful cakes bought in by the Sixth Form. The event was a huge success and the lower school supported us greatly by buying all the cakes, we would like to thank them for their support.

We hope our future events will be as successful as this one.

Year 12 Welcome Party
September 23, 2015
By Kieran Bett, Year 13 Student
On 19th September, at North Mymms Memorial Hall, the Sixth Form held their annual welcome party for the newcomers to meet the existing Sixth Formers in a more relaxed social setting. Everyone who took part had a fantastic time, dancing to the music suggested by Sixth Formers, and mingling with both new and familiar faces. Despite a couple of technical difficulties, regarding the music playlist, the night went off without a hitch and there were many smiling faces at the end of the party as people headed home. Many thanks to all of the people that contributed to setting up and running the event. It was a memorable evening and we look forward to the coming year together.

Chancellor’s Prize Giving 2015 (4th September 2015)
September 15, 2015
By Mrs S Reilly, Assistant Headteacher
Parents, governors, staff and students celebrated the efforts and achievements of Chancellor’s pupils at the annual Prize Giving ceremony on Friday evening.

2014-15 was a very successful year for Chancellor’s students with a record number of A Level students going on to study at Russell Group universities and the school achieving an impressive set of GCSE results. The highest achieving students at A Level were Aaron Ferrucci, Emily Heath and Thomas Price who each achieved A*A*A.

At GCSE, nearly a quarter of students achieved five or more A* or A grades and a third of all grades attained were A or A*. There were a large number of notable individual results including Stephanie Mabbutt, Julia Kal, Sam Price, Maddie Runagall and Jazz Wood, all of whom achieved at least eight A*s. Councillor Annie Brewster (former mayor of St Albans) presented the awards and attendees were entertained by performances including a stunning piano recital by Joseph Spinoza, who is going on to study music at the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire.

Picture 1 – Aaron Ferrucci and Emily Heath, who both achieved A*A*A, receiving their award for the highest achievement at A Level from Councillor Annie Brewster.

Picture 2 – Stephanie Mabbutt, who achieved 11 A*s at GCSE, receiving her award for the highest achievement at GCSE from Councillor Annie Brewster.

PE Fixtures September - April 2015 -2016
September 09, 2015
By Mr D Welch, Mrs N Seabrook
We have published our calendar of fixtures today on our website in the Extra-Curricular Sport Section.

The girls fixtures are in red and boys in blue. The cross country involves both boys and girls. This is not a final list as more matches will be added as the season progresses.

Please note down any ones that are relevant, but be mindful that due to varying circumstances eg weather/pitch conditions, some fixtures may not run to plan. Students will be informed as soon as possible should this happen. They will also be informed of the venue for those which are not confirmed yet.

Finally with regard to the calendar, you will see we have an amazing amount of fixtures this year, some on the same nights and along with our meeting commitments, this may result in transport issues for us. We welcome any volunteers to help on these nights rather than cancel important games, so will be in touch as and when necessary.

Thank you

Mr D Welch (Head of PE Faculty)
