By Mrs L Moore, Head of Girls PE/Deputy Head of Faculty
Chancellor's Junior Boys swimming team (David Shipman, Ben Harrison, James Blount and James Woodward) produced an outstanding result on Saturday at the National Secondary Schools Team Championships at Crystal Palace.

In their heat they qualified in 3rd making through to the finals.

They performed fantastically well and finished 4th out of 16 finalists and top placing state school. This is an amazing achievement and means they are the 4th fastest freestyle team in the country. They were also awarded the Lis Hartley Bowl in recognition of being the most improved team from the divisional qualifying round.

Well done boys, an amazing achievement and you should all be really proud.

Further details will be in the next school newsletter.

Year 12 Oxford University visit
November 25, 2013
By Miss S. Zeal, Deputy Head of Sixth Form
On Monday 11th November a handful of lucky Year 12 students were able to visit Oxford University.

Despite the rain a very productive day was had by all. We were able to visit Balliol College which is celebrating its 750th anniversary this year. We were impressed with the grandeur of the college and were lucky enough to have a guided tour from a current Oxford University student. The admissions process was explained to us fully and all of our questions were answered.

Lunch was eaten in the Great Hall and we admired the numerous portraits dating back to the 14th century. Later on in the afternoon we also had the opportunity to see some of the other colleges, which are dotted all over the city.

It was a lovely day to experience University life at Oxford.

By Mrs L Moore, Head of Girls PE/Deputy Head of Faculty
Mike Mullen, a world champion BMX athlete visited Chancellor's PE Change team as part of our involvement with the Sky Living for Sport Project.

Our change team will be working closing with the PE department and Mike Mullen to develop their own skills as performers and leaders but also provide opportunities for other students to get involved in PE and Sport.

In one of the games Mike delivered to the team was the 'MOBOT' game, a school in Milton Keynes held the title prior to this visit, however, Chancellor's beat their score sitting top of the table! Well done team!

Mike will be revisiting in the spring to see the Change Team's progress and what they have achieved so far.

We would like to thank Mike for his time and for delivering an excellent workshop.

Chancellor's Year 8 Halloween Party
November 08, 2013
By Rifat Alam, Sixth Form Student
On Friday 25th October 2013 the year 8 students attended the much anticipated Halloween party organised by the sixth formers.

The hall was transformed into a scary room haunted by witches, ghosts and vampires who started to arrive from 6:30pm. There was food and drink for sale where music was played throughout the night and the scary students danced until the evening came to a close. The stage was mainly occupied by sixth formers dancing away with the teachers.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves as it was a great way to celebrate Halloween for both the year 8s and sixth formers and it was a fantastic end to the half term.
Thank you to all the year 8s who came and made the night such a success and thank you to everyone who helped out.

Our 8a and 8b netball teams continued on their winning streak today with both teams beating Goffs School.

Due to our year 8 success this year, we organised a friendly against Goffs school. Goffs have an exceptionally strong team too making for a very tense game. However, our girls went on to win, 8a 22-9 with player's player Olivia Bacon and 8b winning 11-8 with player's player Renee Theophani. A great result girls, well done!
