Generally, because of the high level of studying required for 'A' Levels, and because it is important that a student chooses a course which is within his/her ability, entry to the Sixth Form is dependent on both of the following:
- Pupils must obtain at least 5 C grades or above at GCSE but, in addition to this, pupils should also meet the requirements of the subjects they wish to study.
- In order to continue on to A2, a pass is expected at AS. (Please see individual course requirements)
It is also expected that pupils re-sit GCSE English & Maths if they do not gain a grade C.
All applicants for the Sixth Form will have a personal meeting with one of the sixth form team to discuss choices of 'A' Levels after half term, in February. Parents are invited to attend these meetings if they wish.
