Learning Support

The learning support department at Chancellor's School supports any student who needs additional help with their learning. This involves working closely with the pastoral team, all faculties, all departments and all classteachers.

Students in KS 3 are supported in a number of ways, including:

  • In class support in lessons
  • Working in small groups to improve basic literacy skills
  • Lunchtime and after school club to support with homework
  • Shared reading with older students acting as reading buddies
  • Intervention to support with spelling

Students in KS 4 are supported in a number of ways, including:

  • In class support in lessons
  • Support during study periods
  • Lunchtime and after school club to support with homework
  • Personalised curriculum where necessary
  • Assessing and arranging suitable examination access arrangements

The learning support department aims to work closely with parents, students and staff to ensure that all students achieve their full potential and enjoy their learning at Chancellor's.
